Dana Holmes earns prestigious CEPA designation from Exit Planning Institute

Dana Holmes, managing member of KraftCPAs affiliate, 2nd Generation Capital, LLC (2ndG) has earned the prestigious Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation after completing the Exit Planning Institute’s intensive program. Dana joins an elite group of business advisors worldwide who have received this designation.

About the CEPA program

The Certified Exit Planning Advisor program was specifically designed for business advisors who work closely with owners of privately held companies. Using an executive MBA-style format, the program is designed around a central methodology, which is taught by the Exit Planning Institute’s dedicated faculty of 15 instructors who are all sought after subject matter experts and authors.

To receive the CEPA designation, Dana completed the rigorous four-day program that involved approximately 100 hours of pre-course study, 30 hours of classroom instruction and successful completion of a three-hour proctored examination.

About the Exit Planning Institute

The Exit Planning Institute (EPI) delivers interactive education and training, performance-enhancing resources, and strategic tools designed to enhance the exit planning profession. Formed in 2005 to serve educational and resource needs of M&A advisors, attorneys, financial planners, wealth managers, commercial lenders, management consultants, and other business advisors, the Exit Planning Institute is considered the trendsetter in the field of exit planning. It is the only organization that offers the Certified Exit Planning Advisor program, which qualifies for continuing educational credits with 11 major professional associations, making it the most widely accepted and endorsed professional exit planning program in the world.

Members of EPI help clients grow, preserve, and transfer business wealth by helping owners and their families successfully plan and execute ownership transition. The Exit Planning Institute provides certification, continuous education, methodology, research, and practice support to their members, which in turn enables EPI members, like Dana, to provide services which significantly change clients’ outcomes.

Close collaboration with KraftCPAs and affiliates

Vic Alexander, chief manager of KraftCPAs says, “We’ve been fortunate to have Dana as part of our affiliate for the past decade, and we look forward to collaborating with him and the team at 2ndG to provide clients with a comprehensive range of exit planning services. We realized more than 20 years ago that many of our clients and other Nashville business owners would need specialized assistance and planning to successfully build, preserve and transfer the wealth tied up in their businesses. That’s why KraftCPAs helped launch 2ndG in 1994. We’re thrilled with the exit planning expertise available to our clients through 2ndG, and we’re pleased to congratulate Dana on this new credential. With Dana’s vast experience in this area, I thought he should be teaching the course, but I’m happy he’s focused on meeting the needs of our clients.”

Dana adds, “With KraftCPAs and its many affiliates, we can assist business owners in a variety of areas that are important in developing or implementing exit planning strategies, such as valuation, tax planning, wealth management, risk assessment, infrastructure/IT upgrades, balance sheet restructuring, etc.  We are thankful that 2ndG’s efforts in this area will help us coordinate our joint efforts for our clients using the EPI process.  We expect other members of the 2ndG team and other Kraft affiliates to pursue the CEPA designation as well.”
