2nd Generation Capital, LLC advises physicians in the development of a vertically-integrated medical group focused on oncology. The results: Southern Oncology, Tennessee Oncology, Compass Oncology and the Sarah Cannon Research Institute.

These various businesses are all 2ndG concept investments designed to leverage a core population of cancer patients, their demographic data and advanced treatment protocols to create complementary businesses.
The oncology group currently includes: Southern Oncology, a holding company and practice management business; Tennessee Oncology a medical & radiation oncology, and bone marrow transplant company; Compass Oncology, a disease management business; TORI, an investment holding partnership; and SCRI, Inc., the Sarah Cannon Research Institute. SCRI, a joint venture with HCA, INC, is one of the largest clinical research programs and trial management companies in the nation. 2ndG initiated many of company formations, served as exclusive merchant banker, negotiated merger and acquisitions agreement, joint venture agreements, designed management equity incentive plans, provided special valuation services, and is an equity principal in certain of these companies. Michael Collins, 2ndG CEO and managing member, also serves on the board of the majority of these companies.
